Prayer for faith

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Holy and beloved God,

You have been faithful to your people from the beginning, and I believe that your gracious faithfulness will carry us to the end. Life with you is glorious and eternal. Grow my confidence in who you have continuously proven yourself to be–––a loving Father who delights in giving good gifts to his children. Give me the wisdom and desire to submit my will to yours. Give me inner eyes to reflect on who I have been and look forward to what you will do through my words, rhythms, traditions, family, health, circumstances, work and art. May I walk with righteousness, guided by your Holy Spirit, through winds and waves. Measure my pace until it aligns with yours. We bless you because you anoint us with power. Your presence brings courage and peace. You train our minds and bodies for war, so that our arms may bend a bow of bronze. We know that nothing–––neither death nor life, height nor depth, angel nor demon––can ever separate us from your mighty, unfailing love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below. No fear of today, nor anxiety about tomorrow. Indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to remove us from the love of God revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Whether awake or asleep, God is with us.

God,

Nourish our hearts, souls, bodies and minds. Teach us how to build worshipful cultures where you remain the central focus. Nurture, protect and strengthen our faith for the sake of those we love. In your name, we pray amen.
